Questions

Fair questions. Straight answers.

Do I have to give you my bank login?

No — and you never will. GO works from the PDF statements your bank already emails you. No screen-scraping, no shared credentials, no live access to your account. Statements are parsed read-only and balanced against their own totals.

Which banks are supported?

FNB, Standard Bank and Capitec statements are parsed today, with more added as early-access businesses need them. If your bank isn't on the list, one redacted sample statement is usually enough for us to build the reader.

Is AI reading my bank statements?

No. Bank statements are parsed by exact, bank-specific readers — a hard rule enforced inside the engine. AI is used only where it's the right tool (reading supplier invoices), and everything it extracts is validated and reviewable.

What happens when GO isn't sure about something?

It asks you — once. Uncertain items land in a short queue you can clear from your phone, with the evidence attached. Every answer becomes a rule, so the same question isn't asked twice.

Can GO post things without me?

Only what you've explicitly allowed. Everything starts as a reviewable draft; automation is earned per pattern, and always reversible.

Can I see what changed?

Every posting traces to the source document, the event, the decision and who made it. Audit by construction, not as an afterthought.

I'm months behind on my books. Can GO catch me up?

Yes — backlogs are what the engine is built for. Forward your old statements and invoices and the same workflow processes them, months at a time. Catch-up is part of early-access onboarding.

Does it handle VAT?

Yes. VAT is captured per line on every invoice and computed through proper VAT control accounts, so your VAT201 numbers come from the ledger, not a spreadsheet.

Do I need to change my accountant?

No. GO prepares the books; your accountant sees the same evidence, drafts and queue, and their review is part of the record. Many of our design conversations are with accountants who want their clients on GOaccounting.

What about POPIA?

Your data lives in an isolated tenant, encrypted in transit and at rest, and is never sold or shared. Suppliers' and customers' personal information is minimised and protected — see the Security & POPIA page for the full posture.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. No setup fees, no long-term contract during early access — and your data exports with you.

What does “founding customer” actually mean?

You're one of the first businesses on the platform. You get hands-on onboarding, a permanent price lock, a direct line for support, and real influence on the roadmap. In exchange we get your honest feedback.

Something we didn't answer? We reply personally, usually within a day.
