An accounting engine,
not an accounting form.

Everything in GOaccounting is built around one promise: documents go in, a closed month comes out. Here's the whole machine, honestly explained.

01 · Intake

Everything arrives by email — because that's where it already is.

Forward once, done forever

A simple rule in Gmail or Outlook forwards supplier emails and bank statements to your private GOaccounting address. Photos of slips work too.

Every sender verified

Unknown senders can't inject documents into your books. New suppliers are approved once — with a tap — then trusted forever.

Nothing gets lost

Every email is tracked from arrival to posting. If something can't be processed, it's flagged with a reason — never silently dropped.

02 · Reading

Statements are parsed exactly. Invoices are read line by line.

Bank statements — FNB, Standard Bank, Capitec

Statements are parsed by exact, bank-specific readers and balanced against the statement's own totals. No AI ever touches your bank data — a rule we enforce in the engine itself. Password-protected PDFs are handled automatically.

Supplier & customer invoices

Every line item is captured: quantities, unit prices, VAT. Suppliers are recognised by VAT number and enriched automatically. Foreign-currency invoices are recorded honestly and expensed from the actual bank settlement.

03 · The learning loop

Your one tap becomes a permanent rule.

When the engine meets something new — a supplier it hasn't seen, a bank line it can't place — it asks you once, in a short review queue you can clear from your phone. Your answer is stored as a rule that fires automatically from then on. The system's questions get rarer every month; your books get faster every month.

04 · Real double-entry

Under the hood: a proper ledger, always in balance.

Every event becomes a journal

Invoices, payments and bank lines post as balanced double-entry journals with an unbroken audit trail back to the source document.

Payments match themselves

When a customer pays, the deposit is matched to the invoice automatically — marked paid, debtors settled, nothing counted twice.

Reports that agree with the bank

Trial balance, P&L and balance sheet are built from the journals — which are built from your actual statements. The numbers reconcile because they were never apart.

05 · Month readiness

The number that matters: is this month done?

Most accounting software can't answer the only question that counts. GOaccounting tracks every expected document — statements, invoices, the review queue — and shows you a single readiness score. When it says 100%, your month is complete, provable, and VAT-return ready. That's the product's heartbeat.
